Naturopathic Doctors are required to have a minimum of three years premedical studies at a recognized university, followed by four years of full time study at an accredited college of Naturopathic Medicine.
Training includes over 4200 hours of study in basic medical sciences, diagnostic and assessment skills and therapeutic techniques, and a minimum of 1500 hours of clinical internship.
To become licensed to practice in the province of Ontario, graduates must successfully complete two sets of standardized North American examinations, and one set of provincial licensing examinations.
Naturopathic Doctors are regulated by the Province of Ontario through the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy - Naturopathy, which is regulated within the Drugless Practitioners Act.
